Technical Outline of the Session:

The worldwide energy sector's rapid transformation is majorly driven by the large-scale renewable integration, and has created huge challenges for the power electronic systems inorder to ensure grid stability, reliability, and efficiency. Energy Storage Systems(ESS) and their power electronic interfaces have shown promising options to address demand-supply balancing, and provide ancillary services. However, inorder to maximize the value of these assets, intelligent control of power components and predictive management is the need of hour that transcends traditional approaches. This special session aims to bring together researchers and engineers to present state-of-art advancements in applying Artificial Intelligence(AI) and Machine Learning(ML) to power electronics challenges which are inherent in energy storage management and grid integration. The focus will be on developing intelligent algorithms for improving converter control loops, optimizing power flow management, and developing predictive health monitoring for storage systems. It includes advancing beyond the traditional Battery Management Systems(BMS) and Eneergy Management Systems(EMS) to create more accurate, adaptive systems for a variety of storage technologies which ultimately enhance their performance, lifespan, and adds value through advanced power electronics control. The session will explore how AI-driven control strategies for dynamic managment of hybrid storage systems, control stragegies for grid forming, and cyber physical frameworks can be leveraged for applications such as renewable integration with grid support. This session will strengthen the conference's core themes by augmenting how computational intelligence is aiding in the design of power electronic systems which are critical for sustainable energy future inorder to meet the growing global energy demands.
